TIPS FOR TRAINING: PHYSIQUE COMPETITORS

I competed in my first NPC physique competition on November 10, 2018 I entered into two categories Masters and over 35. I came in second place. I started this journey because I wanted to show off all the work I have put into my body living a healthy lifestyle.

1. Take Pictures Every Day

Pictures every day literally shows how amazing the body really is. I can see changes from thickness to muscle growth. I also see if I didn’t eat on time or if I ate too much.

2. Listen to your Coach

Whenever I felt I couldn't do a specific exercise or weight my coach always asked me “how do you know you can’t have you tried it before?” Making me think and stop looking at the situation or the heavyweight and look at my strength my heart my soul and “just lift the damn thing” worked every time I got stronger and stopped even saying I couldn't and just did.

3. Pray Often

As a devoted Christian a believer that Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior; I am blessed. I love to wake up in the morning and give thanks and look forward to what God will do next just for me. While I’m making our breakfast in the morning I put on my beats headphones and listen to the Bible. We pray and eat together. This has been our daly routine for a while now and it’s has made me and my love closer than ever.  We both are members at Christian Cultural Center and we do our best to attend every Sunday. The love the atmosphere the music and of course the Word of God. It’s so uplifting and it allows us to get through the week and challenges of this world. As a personal trainer and fitness motivator this part of me is the base of my life. My motif is “Relinquish your mind, body, and spirit to God through exercise”.  Period. 

4. Focus on the Journey

Do more than just win... complete your goals. Find your why, and keep that in mind throughout training.
